Here is a fantastic, super-rare phonograph that is a sight to behold. This comes out of a major European collection and has not been offered for sale in many years.

To begin with, the horn, rear tone arm support bracket, elbow, and tone arm are all wood.

According to the previous long-time owner, this phonograph was made as prototype by the principals of the famous Klingsor brand; it was never put into production. Kingsor's were noted for, but not limited to, their "harp string" models. Here is a similar Klingsor from a European collection, but lacking the wood tone arm, bracket, horn, etc.:"

I don't see anything to indicate that this machine is not a genuine low-end swiss made machine, with a later soundbox.

I'm having trouble seeing how the horn is supported. Check out the position of the soundbox on the turn table. If this is playing position, the tracking error would be horrendous.

Assuming you mean the pseudo-Edison, the horn is supported reasonably correctly by the front support, on the original machine a mechanical feed caused it to pivot and carry the reproducer across the disc. In this case it looks as if the needle has to do all the work and the resulting pressure on the groove (coupled by the tracking error which does appear to be huge) is going to be a record-killer.

I believe the The "Marque Deposee" stamp/logo on the motor is that of a Paillard motor.

WOW! Who in their right mind would pay over $2000 for this Edison "14".
I wonder what other strange combinations of spare parts will start to appear on ebay now that this sort of price has been achieved for pure junk.
