Could you post a picture of the type of brake the two door Credenza uses?

Here it is. I'm glad you asked, I'd been meaning to replace the leather brake and you led me to do just that! This motorboard was not original to this cabinet, but it was indeed from another identical two-door model.

What is your technique for replacing the leather without breaking the metal fingers holding it in.
Do you spread the fingers at all?

Don't spread them, but bend one finger slightly forward and the other slightly backward. Position the leather between the fingers, then bend them back.

I recently picked up an early two door Credenza. The turntable has original green felt on it. I thought they all had the burnt orange felt. Did some have green felt or could this be a switched out turntable?

I've never seen an Orthophonic machine with green felt nor have I ever heard of them coming that way when new. I suspect someone has either changed the felt or the turntable.

I'd also assume that it was changed, but who knows. I've always been interested in the 1920s change from green to orange. My Edison LU is a very early one with green, but they obviously went orange/brown later. I also have an earlier Brunswick Seville Panatrope with green felt. I think the orange/browns suit most of the 1920s cabinets better, but if they were green originally, I leave them that way.

I think I figured it out. Someone put an electric motor in it and the turntable fit the spindle. I just put a spring motor back in it yesterday and the spindle on the motor is too big for this turntable to fit. I guess now I'll have to find a Victrola gold plated turntable.
