I'm still looking for a bedplate tag for a standard F.

Besides the typical case swap, did the Model F use Model D cases until the old stock was used up? In other models, Edison used up old stock. I have seen examples of the Model F with a Model D tag that was stamped out, and F was in the space next to it.

I agree with Martin and Harvey. The harder thing to find will be the lid. It took me about two months to find one for my F. I was also trying to find only the three hole latches and that was hard. The bottom case can be any late model D case. As far as the tag you may be better off getting the whole plate with the tag attached. I have seen several on E bay lately. One was $ 95.00 and had the bearing replaced. I have built two standard Fs like this. Overall I think it would have been cheaper to buy a whole machine but you already have one of the more expensive parts which is the reproducer. Get some new decals also off of Gregg and the machine will look great. It may take some time to locate everything but parts are available. Also check with George in Michigan for the parts. He may have your tag but do not tell him you are converting. Tom

I already have a case and lid with the three screw lid clips. I really only need a tag. I have another bedplate I'm going to restore. I intentionally bought it for use on this project because the paint was in horrible condition so no original parts are being changed.
