One point that I did not see addressed above was WHY the "His Master's Voice" image was added to the grooves on the record in the first image. This was an anti-piracy move, so that a pirate could not just plate a Berliner disc and issue his own pressings with a paper label and claim it as the product of another company. The only way to pirate this one was by doing an acoustical dub, and I think you know what quality that would leave with the equipment available in that day. :geek:

Actualy it states that in the original ad that was posted.What was not meantioned was that there was a company in Montreal at the time called the "Gramophone Cigar Co.".Could they have been making copies????.

Actualy,it is stated in the original ad I posted.One of the suspected culprits of this pirating was a company in Montreal called the Gramophone Cigar Co.
