And I thought I was virtuous for adopting a real nipper from the local shelter. All I did though was sign a few papers and pay 100 bucks

Good luck and I look forward to seeing the progress/finished product.

Jerry, You are correct...
No, there is not a metal structure to support the legs at present, or originally, but it would be a good idea to use one to build the legs on. Welding rod would be an idea, inserted in the body and epoxied in after determining the length necessary for the legs. The rods would give it support and a base to build upon, allowing it to stand in the correct position while sculpting the legs. Since the legs can't be re-cast with the body, I don't see any other way to securely attach them without a weak joint and you can't make the legs separately and then attach them. There would be no accurate way to determine the correct length without building them to the body standing in the correct position... If you just glue the legs to the body without an internal structure, they would be easily broken off again... That is also why you would drill the body and slide the rods inside before attaching them, so they can't break off or fall out...

I wish I had room for a pet like this. At least this one would not shed hair! Neil

Most people mean glassy-eyed after a few nips too many.
