Ok...to clean use a cleaner... I prefer gojo no pumice... others work well also. It will clear all the grime from the last century. Then I apply paste wax...which is reversable with some naphtha.
McGuire’s is a polish.......it is abrasive..even if ever so slightly. So be sure that is what you want as there is no going back. This from personal experience. Looking at it and saying what did I just do!!? Be sure that is the look you want, Rather then honest wear. After all these are antiques...they aren’t supposed to look new.

Try it with a q-tip, in a small, inconspicuous spot. It will probably clean ok, but you'll likely need to polish afterwards.

I am unfamiliar with that product so I cannot make a recommendation... I agree that testing in an inconspicuous spot is the best way to proceed if you want to try it.
