Among the "production" models, I'd say so, yes, but there are Victor machines that are as rare if not rarer than the XX. The art models for example, or the higher-end special finish models like the Vernis Martin.

If you don't already own "Look for the Dog" and the "Victor Data Book", I would recommend you buy them.

Yes, I recently purchased those books which are great reference material, and submitted this initial posting based on production information mentioned in the "Victor Data Book".

Keep in mind, your post is only two days old and this is the good old summertime. Give it some more time and more will pop up.

And.. Last week, while in MT, I saw a XX at the World Mining Museum in Butte, MT--- It's included in their "Superintendent's Home" display, in a fairly cluttered room, next to an old pump organ. No way to see the serial number. The museum also has a couple Edison Homes and Standards, a Victor IV and a coin-op Seeburg Orchestrion that plays. Oh yeah-- and a bunch of mining stuff, too! :)

Actually a really nice museum with a wide variety of displays other than mining related items.

Larry,

That's great information. Do you know the selling price at the auctions?

Brad,

Sounds like a cool museum.

The tally is up to 21 so far...any more?

Victrola XX (VTLA) #8419 sold on March 15, 2018 for only $2,660 online. If you want more details, please pm me.

I know Bob Johnson (Mr. Victor) also had at least three examples.

There is also a collector in Charlotte that has two XX's. One is with the gold trim. I'll try to get the serial numbers, but he's had these machines for at least 20 years. Amberola might be able to shed more light on these two. Bob

I've proud to care for VV-XX #5169. It has gold embellishments.
