WOW!!!! This is really neat!!! You know, this reminds me of the movie, "White Christmas" with Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye. Didn't they use a phonograph in the movie? If so, I never realized it.

Danny Kaye is winding a music box to the tune "White Christmas" in the first scene. Later, he and Bing lip-sync to the tune "Sisters" using a record on a contemporary phonograph.

I don't know. Seems like I've seen Edison A/N Phonos that weren't painted grey inside. Maybe someone can chime in...?

George, Is that a "Keep the Homefires Burning" Music Sheet that I see peering out of the corner...??? or an old Newspaper clipping?? Is there a Colt .38 or Colt 1911 .45 in the Gun pouch too...?!??!?....lol.... You have to protect all of those valuable old Phonographs... The doughboy is always on watch!

That photo is almost 10 years old! There's a different Army/Navy sitting in that spot now - - a clean, complete, unrestored example bought from the granddaughter of an Edison dealer in Milwaukee. I also substituted a more interesting helmet. The "Keep The Homefires Burning" sheet music has been replaced with the more colorful "Over There" example. And as for firearms, I keep them secured as any responsible owner should.

She's a Beauty George!

I've never seen one complete with a Front Door. The Front Doors always go missing for some unknown reason. I've never seen the 4-ring binder instruction book either. Sweet. Another nice bonus. I wonder how many of those went missing along with their Front Doors...

Congrats on that find.. A beautiful machine... I envy to find one of those machines myself someday.

Edison Collector/Restorer

I'd love to find one of those Army-Navy Edison models. Also my dad (deceased) was born in 1917, which he told me kept his dad out of the war. His father stepped off the White Star liner "Oceanic" (built 1899) in New York City in 1909, after voyaging from Athens. Then, since he was Greek, he started one of those diners selling cheeseburgers!
