"Always good to see the tone arm on the left side of the record too."

That how you get the needle to dig in deeper - down where the bass notes hide!

Yea! $790.00?! It isn't even in great condition. I'm not sure what happened with that one. I have seen VV-50's go for $300+, but only when in near mint condition.
That is the second time they have listed that VV-50 and he still is showing two different motors.
That explains it. This is the ultra-rare two-motor version of the VV-50.

And the seller is still at it!

And the price has gone up $11 since last time...although he has dropped the shipping price from $135 to $119. But at least he explains his thinking
I am not afraid to ask too much for the one of my prize collectibles.
No kidding? That wasn't obvious from the fact you're asking 12 times the value of the machine. He's also not afraid to ask too much for shipping either.

Why am I so fascinated with this seller? Dropped the price $500....but still nowhere near reality. I normally don't contact delusional sellers, but I'm starting to feel compelled. What are the odds that no one has told him he's off my more than 10x?

Actually, it's funny you should mention that because I just saw this listing this morning, and I DID email the seller, provided a link to the VV site so he/she would be aware that there are other "collectors" who do not find this model so rare. Perhaps it wasn't my business, (because afterall, a seller can "ask" whatever they wish), but I just couldn't resist mentioning to the seller that he/she may be waiting a long, long, long time before some unsuspecting soul buys it.

I generally don't email sellers on items that I don't intend on bidding. Sometimes if the seller seems just a little clueless, but reasonable. I've considered emailing this guy, just because this is about the 5 time he's listed the darn thing, and not only is his price 10x what someone should pay for the machine, it's not even that good of an example of a VV50. That and I figure someone must have emailed him by now (if not multiple people). I'll be curious if he ever gets back to you.

You've got to be careful emailing dealers with criticism- some of them are quick to report you to Ebay for harassment.

I paid well over $200 for my mahogany one some years back- wouldn't make the mistake now but considering the pleasure I've gotten from it I consider it a good buy.
