Victor lost the lawsuit holding dealers to fixed retail prices. Macy sued Victor wanting to sell used records from listen booths at a lower price. When the license system was cancelled in September 1917 there was no longer a need to place a price on the sticker.

Deleted my Oak VTLA label photos and will replace with my Circassian VTLA label photos ttomorrow, to keep within the topic discussion.

The label on my Circassian VV-XVI refers to neither Circassian nor American walnut.

Adding another Licensing Notice variation to this thread. Just picked up this Walnut VE-XVI in the wild earlier this week. The Licensing Notice states "Special Finish".

Just finished this 1917 Walnut XVI restore and it has American Walnut on the label as well as $270 price. Looks kind of like Circassian to me
