Thanks Brad (& everyone else). Based on that website, this is a 1915 model, still with the thin tonearm.
Well I just got it off but the adapter actually cracked & broke when I turned the No. 2 Reproducer to take it off. The cast metal must not have been very strong. Anyway, I attached to Reproducer to the tone arm via the bayonet joint, and all is fine. It's rather "loose", it will turn back off if you're not careful, so there must be some slop in the slot. (Or the engaging pin is worn.)
