Thanks I have the acetone and may go out and buy the other ingredients to try it unless that stuff is now banned. I still can not get over not being to get kerosene in Calif yet all the big jets that fly over my house use it. Tom

No Kero in CA? Can you get home heating oil? Same stuff, my furnace guy tells me; in fact, I've used kero and oil interchangeably in really cold weather, as I have an outside tank and kero doesn't congeal as readily as heating oil. Lots of homes heat with oil here in the n.e. U.S. Also, diesel fuel will work. But not, I think, jet engine fuel!

I've been getting my kero in plastic gallon jugs at the local True Value. Crazy expensive at around $11 per, but use it in my Aladdin lamps.
. . . and to think less than 10 years ago, when living in New England, I could go to just about any service station and fill my kero cans from a pump . . . at around $2.50/gallon.

Supposedly mineral oil thinned with coconut oil works well. I have yet to try it myself but seems quite plausible.

If you can find it,,, I swear by ZipStrip,,,, semipaste actually hangs on vertical surfaces... Not really good for cold environment. For best results use in heated area or when the temperature is above 60deg..
Scrapes off easily with rubber squeegy then wash down with lacquer thinner..
Toxic fumes and flammable which is why it works so well.
