This was a high-end purchase for the buyer, and it traveled about as far within the U.S. as possible, arriving safely, and Josh is pleased with it. A good example of why one should not be afraid to purchase a phonograph “without seeing it first”. Just be sure that the person on the selling end will stand behind the deal and arrange for suitable shipment.

I would like to mention that Josh is a young collector, in his 20’s. We need more like him!

Thank you all for your support. It’s a great machine, and plays beautifully. Here’s a picture of the serial number, that was asked above. Do any you know how many of this b-375 were made? It’s hard to find much information on this model.

According to George Frow (The Edison Disc Phonographs and the Diamond Discs - 2001):

February 1912, 50 A 375 were ordered for production.
By the end of 1914, 124 units had been sold.

Beginning in February 1915, the machine had been standardized with the new Type B mechanism, and redesignated as the B 375.
By October of that year, a total of 49 (24 for Sept., and 25 for Oct.) had been shipped.
It was decided to end production in December 1916, and a remaining 7 had been shipped in September 1917.

I hope this helps, you own a true rarity.

That's such a gorgeous machine! Congratulations Josh.

And congratulations Raphael, but from all I read it seems that's "business as usual", which is even more cause for congratulations.

Lovely machine. Josh, are you aware of OTAPS (Oregon Territory Antique Phonograph Society)? Most members are in the greater Pacific Northwest. Send a PM if interested.

Thank you guys for all the information, I knew this was a rare machine but not aware the numbers where that low. I’m
Wondering how many have survived.
