Looks like a lot of work on this one, but it will be well worth the effort as it seems to be a beautiful unique cabinet. Tom

This project will stretch my skills.
I will open a post in the Tips, Tricks, & Tutorials section as I progress.
This post will still be open for potential info about the cabinet.

Fantastic item - I look forward very much to reading the 'up-dates' as things develop.

Cool. I would love to find any period cabinet where I live. Disc or cylinder. I’ve seen sheet music cabinets but none for records. It beats putting them in cardboard boxes or plastic totes that’s for sure.

I have a cabinet (very plain by comparison) with the same method of storing the records. In mine the slots are for ten-inch records alone and are lined with green baize. It holds 150 records on three shelves, each with its own downward-opening door. When I bought it it still held a few records dating from the 1910s. There is an ornamental moulding round the base very similar to one used on early Columbia Disc Graphophone cases. I thought I had a photograph – in fact I thought I had once posted it here – but I cannot now find it.
