I figure if I save 100 dollars per month by the time I retire I will have enough money to buy one.... or put down a payment on an RV. I will make the decision then :)

There was one on Ebay 2 or 3 years ago. It was for sale in North Vancouver, British Columbia — important to me because I live nearby and could have contacted the seller to take a look. I have never seen a School in the flesh. However, I did not want to trifle with him either as I did not intend to bid. I believe it could have been bought for US $12,000, and I do not believe it sold in the Ebay auction. Is that machine in René’s database? In the 1970s there was reputed to be a School in Vancouver, without horn. I never saw the machine but info came from a reliable (now long deceased) collector, Jack Boyd.

I purchased my Edison Schoolhouse at Stanton’s auction last year. I had not gone in with the intention of buying it but when it sold for what I considered a bargain price, I couldn’t pass it up. It was a purchase of opportunity and one of several bargains I got at Stanton’s that year. It is now one of my favorite machines in my collection. It came with the original stand but was missing the record boxes. I have been able to locate 3 of the reproduction record boxes and I am looking into having a 4th one made. If anyone knows and any extra Edison School House record boxes, please let me know.
