I find it strange with 34 bids it's only at 500 pounds. It looks like bidder "h***l" is conducting incremental bidding. Why not just bid the maximum bid? This type of "incremental" biddng makes me suspicious. It's not my intention to offend anyone on this forum who may be bidding on this phonograph.

It's not a schill bid. It's a very determined collector bidding it up. Even though it has nothing to do with me I can recognise the feedback 'score' of the underbidder and I believe it to be an American collector who has recently bought items from the Colonel.

Final bid, 700 pounds. Wow! Guess it is pretty rare.

I think it is a very neat machine. Definitely worthy for anyone's collection. Since it is rare 701 pounds is not a bad price in my opinion.

What do you all think of the sound of the Parisian Brunswick with cone type speaker which is external? I owned one many years ago and may not have known how to tweak it to work the best but if I recall it had rather weak sound?

Those paper cone portables aren't bad but the sound output probably diminishes as the paper ages. Like most of those miniature portables the compact aspect is more important than the performance.
