"American buyers of foreign extraction...." Mm-m-m, now let's see, that would include pretty much everybody except the original people of the land, right?

And let's not forget those of foreign injection.

In its painted state with the turquoise accent and bits of color on the grille it gives me an American Southwest vibe. Always liked this cabinet, it was so different.

I've tried to contact the seller a few times and get no response. Maybe I'm not close enough for his taste?

Here's one on eBay. Pretty nice, but not cheap: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Victor-Victrol ... 0667.m2042

Yup, that's pretty pricey. Looks like they muted down or antiqued all the colors, and somehow the gold doesn't look right.

The one on ebay is actually very nice, it's original and the colors are just fine. They've faded some as we all would after 90+ years and the cabinet would certainly benefit from a good cleaning. I owned a nice original 8-9 that was as nice and as original for years until I got my 8-8 and decided I didn't really need both and the 8-9 now resides in Michigan. I'd much rather see an original albeit faded or "muted" 8-9 than one where someone has taken liberties and painted everything up with incredibly bright, almost neon looking paint. A few years ago, that ebay asking price wouldn't even be too far out of line, either. I paid well over $1200 for mine, dirty as it was.

Just my $.02.

If I didn't already have one, the one on eBay would be very interesting to me. The finish and colors are better than mine. Most of the gold has worn away on mine, (which I actually don't mind).

Seems like a lot of people like to remove the turquoise (or is it aquamarine?) from their cabinet.

This one is just the empty cabinet, currently listed on Facebook Marketplace about 10 miles from me. You can see the light places where they took the off most of the decorations, too.

Damned foreign confectioners!
that's my grandfather. He stepped off the Oceanic of the White Star line from Athens, Greece to New York in 1909! That's before the 1924 ban on southern Europeans. And he started a confectionery store with candy and ice cream! It was later that he upgraded to a diner to serve lunch and dinner. Cheeseburger?
