Yup, and this looks like the top shelf model Brunswick...I hope you get it! They're cool machines! I have a later top-shelf Brunswick that even has a battery radiola 24 in it. It's one of my favorite machines!

I've heard about, but have never seen the early "pre-Ultona" Brunswick tonearm. Does anyone have a photo?

Found it! Many thanks. (I guess I can't put off getting new glasses any longer.)

Hey, I'm getting new glasses tomorrow!

The giveaway that this is the correct arm is the autostop lever on the base of the tonearm. Other makes did use this arm also, but the special lever is exactly the same one as the later ones used. I've seen a few of these in the flesh, they're nice and work just as well as the later machines (with the Ultona).

I have the machine on the right side of that ad - it was my first floor model, and cost a whopping $50 . Note that it has a rectangular wooden horn, a brass tonearm, and aluminum Ultona reproducer. Same crummy pot metal retaining rings.

Ah, geez... you don't really expect my old eyes to be able to see that, do you?? Looks like November 1919 or 1924 to me.

I did so much Brunswick researching today, it's probably hopeless to find it in my browsing history. If I can find wherever it is I originally found that ad, I'll check the date on it there.

If the condition of the rest of the machine is good then you've got a good find there- you don't see a lot of machines where the back columns of the case were carved to match the front.
