Sorry it didn't work out for you.
It was awful nice of somebody to clue the sellers in on their low asking price.
I wonder if I should stop posting to this forum and interfering with the process.

I'd say it's fair game after something has been out there for weeks/months. This machine had been posted for months (I'm only about 4 hours away, and did see the listing long before it hit the forum here). Local people who are looking would have had a chance to see the ad.
As far as cluing in on the price/value... depends, if they're posting on facebook, they have access to the internet and could figure out an asking price, or somewhere to ask about an asking price. Hypothetically here, If I was in Newcastle, and googled, and saw that on this forum there has been the same model sold for $500-$600 and not sold at $1,200, $200 would seem fairly reasonable to get it sold in a rural location.
