Dan, Stan, and I drive from Oregon to Union and we've done so for quite a few years. A round trip is generally around 5,000 miles with a side trip or two. I currently have a 2011 diesel GMC pickup and pull a 16' cargo trailer. Of the 150,000 miles on the truck about 45,000 are between Oregon and Illinois. A trip to the APS Expo and back is about 2,000 miles so add on another 18,000 miles in phono trips. I love a good road trip.How do you plan to get there? Illinois is a long way from the Carolinas.
