It also appears that all of the ERJ B's had the bolt action brake.

And it appears that all of the VTM B's used the straight "canon" bullet brake.

This is getting more and more interesting!
Was Johnson using up the remaining Berliner/Consolidated motors on his earliest ERJ "Fluer-de-lis" B's ???

Just want to add this late 1900 ERJ (Consolidated Talking Machine) catalog page (courtesy of Allen K) showing the Type B. The cut drawing appears to still be a improved Gramophone without embellishments or carved base trim. You can also see what appears to be a celluloid plate (or decal) on the travel arm. The reference to the Exhibition sound box is still a Clark-Johnson type. So, what was the improvement..?.
