If it's the click I'm thinking of, it's normal. You should actually hear several small clicks near the end of the record. It's caused by a ratchet, underneath the turntable, that is part of the automatic brake.Mnader wrote:Hey dear, hope everyone is well
I have a question related to the same model
It's about auto - brake , it gives a sound of click as the record is playing till it finishes and the brake is automatically on
The click is due to sliding of the piece attatched to the tone arm on the brake
Is this normally happening or it's over in my machine and how to avoid without having to dislocate tone arm from the brake
Thanks
HMV model 156

Re: HMV model 156
Others can weigh in, but I believe a subtle "click" sound is normal from the auto-brake while the record is playing -- at least this is the case on any Victrola I've owned with the auto-brake.Mnader wrote:Hey dear, hope everyone is well

I just purchased an HMV model 157 and know that it has the metal/zinc horn. Can the forum members clarify if this is also the case with the model 156?
Good luck with your machine!
