I am waiting on some more pictures ( top of machine and back ) as suggested by a fellow collector. The buyer is willing to meet me half way. About a 2 hour drive for me then. Thanks for all your help and opinions. Tom

Looks like original finish, but be aware it looks like someone tried to hack-saw the lid lock.

It's a very nice machine and the oak flaking is wonderful... Don't hesitate, don't place a "bid" - use the "Buy It Now" option before it disappears...

Also, don't let the lid lock be a deterrent - if it's damaged it can be replaced.

I thought that too, but the finish under the lid, where the original decal remains, matches the rest of the cabinet, and also the insides of the doors, which usually escapes refinishing. I'd say it looks okay.

As to a "good deal", I think it's a very fair price.

Hi Everyone, Thanks for your opinions and thoughts on the Victrola XVI. I just bought it. They finally posted pictures of the top and back as I requested. I felt that the pics looked good. Tom

Make sure that when you transport it that you remove the motorboard and motor, remove the reproducer and secure the tonearm so it doesn't swing back and forth - along with anything inside, if you intend to lay it on its back...

And, if you lay it on its back, secure the lid first so it doesn't flop open and rip the lid prop out. Yes, I've done that.... too many times.
