Eastlake-style furniture commonly was made with cherry and oak, not so much walnut. Renaissance Revival most commonly used walnut.

Don't know about cylinders but I wonder if its not a Sheet Music Cabinet?

I guess you're correct. Good thing I stick to phonographs!

It’s an oak lingerie cabinet with a finish darkened by years of wax, polish, dust and dirt (patina)

I tend to agree with those who do not think this cabinet was originally made for cylinders. The drawers do not have evidence of pegs or a thin sheet placed over the original bottoms which had peg holes. This is often seen in cylinder cabinets repurposed for clothing.

If you like this cabinet and it would display one of your machines I would say buy it. Use your knowledge that it is not a cylinder cabinet to negotiate a better price.

I have a couple cabinets in my collection which were not originally cylinder or dics cabinets but they display my chosen machines very nicely. This one has a lot of character and if it fits in your home/collection you can always resell it when a nicer "cylinder cabinet" comes along
