For the bedplate, did you strip it first, or did you prime it over the old paint?

As the guy who owned & did a preliminary restoration on this phonograph before selling it to Martin--

The bedplate was stripped to bare cast iron on a brass wire wheel attached to a drill-press.

Not real sure how Martin repainted it from there, but he did a real good job. I saw this machine again in person at the last antique phonograph show in Mooresville & it was on display there. Pretty sure it was another strip & repaint job because I had run the pinstripes the wrong way. (The things one does when you've never seen an intact one before.)
