I still don't know why you want to remove them ? are they a later addition ? or were they with the machine as supplied ?

Maybe be a bit careful.
The castors I took off my HMV 160 (because of unbelievably severe woodworm infestation) were actually screwed on.

Yours were screwed on, but the ones initially referred to are pushed into a sleeve that is driven into the legs of the machine. Screwed on casters are not common in the US.
