Is the Actuelle a smooth cone or a pleated diaphragm?
I thought the UK & French HMV's were the only commercially sold acoustic machines with an actual pleated diaphragm.

The Actuelle uses a smooth paper cone.

Victor developed several prototypes with the pleated diaphragm, they tried to hide it in a conventional case. None went into production but you can see pictures in the revised LOOK FOR THE DOG.
