Gramophone78, thanks for those pics and info. Thanks everyone else too for the great
advice! I managed to seal the deal for $150.

I put a temporary HMV No 4 on it for testing purposes and the motor runs right on time with the occasional "thumping".
The Exhibition needs a needle bar retainer and a thumbscrew, and gaskets as usual. (Note the gold Exibition from my XVI was on it for the photos but I changed it to the HMV since it is in better working condition.) Does anyone know if a Victrola No 2 reproducer thumb screw will fit the Exhibition needle retainer? I have a spare one but it won't screw in easily and I don't want to force it. I ran out of kotton klenser so I just did a quick rubdown with Howards RAF oak. Did some light cleaning of the tone arm with 0000 and the usual light oiling of the gears, etc. Overall it was a great deal, I am truly stoked!!
Ok, now I need to find a horn...

antique1973 Great Find, For $150 you found a wonderful deal!!!! I do not believe a Victor 2 thumbscrew will work and I definitely would not force it. Please post more pictures as the restoration progresses, it is great to see an old machine like that in a good home that will bring it back to it's former glory

Thanks Boyle, I am going to give this one the attention it deserves for sure!
Sounds like that thumbscrew will have to go on my list of parts to order.

$150 is a steal, even in this market (the back bracket alone would go for more). The #2 and Exhibition thumb screws are different...don't force it.

I am ordering the thumb screw from George V. and other misc. gaskets, etc. It is a great deal, I was lucky to say the least.
