I have reamed a few wax cylinders very gently to fit fully on. I have not broke any yet. The ones I have problems with are the one with the steel ring in them. Tom

Mmmm...first, that's one of my favorite cylinders you have mounted on the mandrel. "The Umpire Is A Most Unhappy Man" by Edward M. Favor. My copy is in slightly lesser condition than yours. Lucky you!
Anyway, I notice that the end gate 'bearing' appears to be adjusted
out almost to its limit. This is a bit odd and
may be
part of the problem. This shifts the feed screw and mandrel to the far right versus the carriage.
The black wax cylinder DOES appear to have shrunk slightly which is unusual for a standard size black wax cylinder but it does occur rarely. And you were wise to NOT force it. I even have a few wax cylinders that are slightly out of round which is also odd. I would suggest adjusting the end gate bearing and the belt pulley bearing to see if you can bring the mandrel and feed screw a little more left so the assembly is a little more centered than it looks right now (to me).
Next, I would consider getting a
different black wax cylinder (preferably one in mediocre condition) than the one you have on the mandrel in the picture and
carefully try using a cylinder reamer inside it to try to remove just a little wax from the core. If it works on a junky wax cylinder then try it on this one. Just be very cautious since you're handling fragile wax and not celluloid (and plaster).

Doug, it is a fun cylinder!
I will adjust the bearings and see if it makes a difference.
Thank you very much.

The combination kits to convert two minute Homes and Triumphs are different between the A series and B series machines as well as different from a Triumph and Home. It can be confusing because the length of the feed screw can be a fraction of an inch different between an A and B Home. The parts are marked and it's important to check those marks. Perhaps that's why your left mandrel shaft bushing is backed so far out.

Jerry B.,
I bought the machine as it is with the story that it was a ‘factory conversion,’ so I’m not 100% sure if it is correct or not. As I’ve said before, the issue I have, only occurs on cylinders that do not fit all the way on the mandrel.
I accidentally typed in model B in the title of the post. I believe that this is a Home A because of the bed plate but I could be wrong.

The bedplate and endgate latch confirm that it's a Model A.

I tried to move the bearing closest to the pulley but could not make it budge, so I put some penetrating oil on it. But , while I’m going about tinkering, I want to clean the main shaft and feedscrew, because I’m getting an odd clicking sound only in four minute mode with and without the carriage engaged, but I cannot figure out how to get the mandrel and shaft out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Remove the belt from the belt pulley and rotate the pulley until you see a hole. Get your jeweler screwdriver and remove the screw and the internal pin that is securing the belt pulley to the shaft. Do NOT lose the screw or the pin. Loosen the tiny clutch screw and the 2/4 minute switch assembly and also remove the 2 screws on the feed screw collar that is nearest the mandrel. This should release the mandrel and its shaft. Carefully pull the mandrel and shaft out. ***Be
SURE to take some digital pictures before you start and as you go along if you're not familiar with how the 2/4 minute assembly is re-installed.*** You will thank yourself later as you can refer to the pictures.

Thank you Mr Doug--
I have a new-to-me Model B Home with combination gearing & it's in horrible shape. This is essential for repairing it; now I have a shot at fixing it.
