I think if I had my pick of EMG's, I'd choose one of the early HMV 510 Lumiere pleated diaphagm convertions they did. I find the combination of upright cabinet, cabriole legs and that big "out there" horn more aesthetically pleasing than the top heavy look of the table models

I've rarely heard one of these but they're marvelous. I get the impression that even in their time it was more about sound than looks. The same situation held in the radio and High-Fidelity era when hobbyists were enraptured by boxes of industrial electronics linked together by cables- a True Believer would have no interest in a merely pretty cabinet.

Yes, it's a little bit ugly too, but good art deco usually is.
