A well known old time collector from the 60's,70's Grosvenor Fattic had several Idelias and said he had known of between 60-70 machines. Whether this is true is yet to be determined. Terry Baer has had a pretty keen eye on this sort of thing so I am surprised he only accounted for so few. I wonder if mine was in his data base? I will post a picture of it tomorrow.

My guesstimate is that there are between 75- 100 machines left out of the 200 or so that were made originally. My observation has been that they used the Triumph serial number lineage starting in the low 60,000's and going to the 80,000's as shown by Ken's machine
The Ideal/Idelia did indeed use the Triumph serial sequence. When I began my research on Triumphs back in 2012, a number of folks on this forum were helpful, and their contributions helped develop an article on the Spring Motor/Triumph that appeared in the December 2019 issue of
The Antique Phonograph.
Terry Baer was kind enough to share his data with me, and between us we accumulated 15 Ideals/Idelias in the database. The earliest is an Ideal #64733, and the latest is Ken's Idelia #83483. There are currently no other Model Es in this database.

George I’m assuming that there isn’t a Model-F in the Idelia list, is that correct?
Also are there any know Triumph Model-G’s in the Triumph database? Frow’s book says they made 5 a week for about 10 months, that’s about 40 total.

My database of 195 Triumphs has no Idelias among the 7 Model Fs.
There are only 2 Model Gs included.

Here are photos of my late Model-D Idelia with a hand painted Rookwood base cabinet. As you can see it is only 273 units away from Ken's Model-E. George, do you have this serial number in your data base? I can't remember if I gave the number to Terry.

I didn't have #83210, but Idelia #83213 was already in the database. Thanks for the addition!

Looks like it's been a while since I shared my numbers, George. I just checked my notes and have the following listed:
Ideals 26
Idelia "B" 15
Idelia "C" 2
Idelia D / D2 26
Idelia E 5
TOTAL 74
Latest number I have is 86,898 but I'm not sure if it is oxidized or maroon.
If I don't have your SN on file please shoot me a note at
[email protected] and I'll add it.

Terry, it has probably been over 7 years since we exchanged data. You've been busy!
