I’ve only got one Meltrope II, but about 8 Meltrope IIIs. My ears are not tonally astute but each sounds different, must be down to the gaskets, diaphragm condition etc. Two I have the diaphragms were totally kinked and the back disc was missing so had to araldite the needle bar to the diaphragm.
