My L Door is serial number 43284 so a bit earlier than yours but it has a bullet brake and all gold hardware except the turntable which is nickel. As for the nickel parts on yours go, only the guy assembling it knows what is was built with. I would think it had all gold hardware except the turntable which would have been nickel. Let’s see the motor pics as this might reveal changes made These are great machines indeed. Good luck with it. Joe

Is your serial number followed by a C or a D? The example that I show has a higher serial number than your machine and it is a “D”. I believe that the hardware is the same as the “C”, with the exception of the brake.

Here is a proper motor and motor board for a Model D. According to the Victor Victrola Site, the D suffix began at 43500, making your machine a D, (tab brake model), unless your tag says otherwise.

Is that post for the auto-brake factory installed? On my machine (49977 D), it appears to be a later upgrade, with the post secured to the tone arm by a strap. The screw holes for the previous brake are visible under the turntable.

The serial # on my oak L Door is 54869 D
There are no screw holes under the turntable for a brake that was removed.

There are no holes in the motor board that would indicate that the brake had been changed. The post on the tonearm was there when I bought the machine.

I was able to get the turntable off and posted some more photos. Even though they are not accurate, all of the parts fit my machine with no alterations. Please review them and give your opinion. I would appreciate it very much!

I was able to get my turntable off and posted additional photos. Everything fits my cabinet without alterations to it. Would appreciate your further opinion. Thanks!
