Thanks. It would allow me to keep the machine in one piece for now..., even though it doesn't run.

Update: I'm going to end up solving this issue with the correct elbow for the machine.

A reducer coupling didn't work, primarily because they don't come in close enough sizes. Knowing the machine is anatomically correct will also create a much greater level of satisfaction. Thank you to all members who've helped.

Now on to finding the governor parts...We'll get there someday!
