Gramophone Stand

I dont believe my parents knew what it was. They called it the music cabinet. I think they would have bought it in the 70's in Ohio. I assume the gramophone would also be hard to come by in the US?

It’s possible that this came over to the US in one the many containers of European furniture that used to be sent over some decades ago. This suggests that it’s true purpose was not known especially if your parents did not know.
