They did buy a Brunswick 117 elsewhere earlier in the same episode, though. They had it appraised at $250.

I do not have cable or satellite tv, but my brother (who lives in CA and does) had informed me that the pickers bought what he thought was a Brunswick similar to my own. This particular episode is not on History.com for viewing (yet), so I was curious which Brunswick they actually purchased.

Mystery solved...

History.com won't let me watch the videos on line because I'm in Australia. I think that's really mean. You guys get all the good gramophones in the States and you get the videos!

Well, I'm in the US and BBC won't let me watch their videos on line- so I'm missing Doctor Who!

In a later episode like 2 episodes later, They picked up an Edison, though it was fast, I think that it was an Amberola Upright (Largest Amberola Model made).

I really enjoyed the segment on Marie Rappold. I was watching it with my grandson and when the performer was identified, we paused it for a moment and listened to one of her cylinders. At the time I wondered if any other viewers had been able to do the same thing. Jerry Blais

After reading this post, I went into my Edison Diamond Disc collection, and I found a Marie Rappold Disc of Ave Maria! Sweet Score! I did'nt even know that I had it!

Here's a DD of Rappold singing in her native English. A fairly well known tune from then, called Smiles. I think it would be safe to rate her a competent if unspectacular artist.
