Thanks for the pictures of your Amet and your Chicago Motor machine, Gregg. Wonderful machines!
Your Chicago Aluminum Motor has the slightly later, interesting governor that had to be substituted for the more conventional governor after Columbia filed suit against the Chicago Talking Machine Company. Rather than controlling the governor through an adjustable pad contacting a sliding disc, this later design controls the governor through a
fixed pad, and the entire governor is adjusted horizontally to control the speed!
My example has an Edison Class M/Spring Motor top works mounted, but the bedplate can accept a Bell-Tainter Graphophone top works as well.
I've been fascinated by these machines since stumbling upon mine in 1988, but there's precious little information about them. I only wish they had drop-down doors!

On other unique feature to this machine is that the belt runs as a figure eight or the the mandrel runs backwards!

Weren't the works on these Bell-Tainter models designed to play from right to left?

Yes, the Bell-Tainter machines and their derivitives play from right to left. If the detachable mandrel is replaced in the conventional way, you'll hear, "I buried Paul..."
