I believe the Victor no4 is the thing to go for. I don't know if an hmv no4, very similar, would fit.

They are fully interchangeable, the only differences being in the outer shell (Victor's has two art deco ridges while HMV's is smooth), and the HMV version has a narrower aperture inside the backplate, because the swan neck tonearms HMV designed for that soundbox have an inner part and an outer part - the outer part is the same diameter as the previous gooseneck, and thus the same size as any Victor up until the Orthophonic, but the inner diameter is much smaller, apparently tapering slowly through the length of the inside of the tone arm.

Victor apparently did not design a tonearm/horn system to go with its No 4, the way HMV did with theirs. Fascinating difference in approach.

Curiouser and curiouser... Victor's design of the no4 wasn't aimed to a particular new line of machines as hmv did? But I've seen it fitted to a new portable (2-30 and 2-60) that looked as having a substantial new internal horn.... But the vv page http://www.victor-victrola.com/2-60.htm for the 2-60 model, the one I thought had an exponential internal fabric horn, says this was not an orthophonic machine....??? Anyone having a 2-60 can corroborate this?

I think the VV-2-65, the Orthophonic portable follow-on to the VV-2-55, is the one you were thinking of:

The earlier 2-60 was equipped with the skinny style tapered tonearm and #4 sound box fitted to an internal wooden horn. The horn is long--roughly the length of the metal horn used for the 2-55, and is gradually tapered, though not necessarily exponential. But, while not Orthophonic, they actually sound very good, once restored, pumping out a nice bass-like tone.
