I think it was a good buy at a hammer price of $325 with brass horn and crane. I think the crane was a home made job. Motor was running; no belt to drive the mandrel. Buyer's premium was 18%.

Sounds like a nice buy. Do you have a pic of the horn and crane? I question the type of brass horn that came with the phonograph from that type period and whether it was a seamless brass horn.

Unfortunately I can not access the auctioneer's website for past auctions where there were several pictures uploaded. The site may be temporarily down. If I can, then I should be able to get the exact serial number, something like 72**. An interesting machine and undoubtedly rare. I thought to bid on it but I have just too many things. In retrospect I'm glad I did not; I simply don't want another object in the house.

I managed to access the photos via a different route. I was wrong about the serial number--totally. It is five digits and it is 79905. I saved the photos to my desktop The machine is not mine. I'm reluctant to upload the photos, especially if the machine was bought by a member of this forum and might not like that.
