And here's the Caliburn. Pretty widely regarded as among the best turntable systems (minus cartridge) being sold today.
The price? If you have to ask...

Words really fail to convey the utter silliness of this thing.
WOW... words really do fail... never seen, or even imagined anything like it.

The Thorens Reference was my dream turntable 25 years ago when I left school. The price then was about $25,000. Today the Thorens is a collector's item with a near fourfold value.
PS: I checked again. Original purchase price in 1982 was "only" about $10,000 (without tonearms). This makes it an even better investment.

I also like how on the first 2 ebay auctions, he says don't bother him with questions about them if you haven't read the "ads", and yet there's no description of the turntables beyond the make & model.

Talk about massive. If that thing weighs 200 pounds, I wouldn't be the least surprised.
Makes that l'il old laser record player look pretty flimsy by comparison.

It is 180 pounds which is only a little more than the gramophone of 1908 I just got which is 130 pounds net weight.

My $200 Audio Technica paired with vintage Bose speakers is fancy
enough for me.

Hah, you sure that isn't the Genesis Device from "Star Trek II The Wrath of Khan"?? Is that price just a mistake or out of thin air, or is that the actual going price for these contraptions I wonder.
