I would have to agree with Raphael on this subject. I took that advice and used USHIP to get a nice Granby back to NC from up North. I will echo his point about screening the shipper and reading reviews, also. This is important.... be careful. My "shipper" kept moving the delivery location from one city to the another at the last minute. It was kind of awkward. But, then again, they were cutting me a deal to meet them halfway.

And, be prepared, this is not a cheap endeavor. My experience is that if will be several hundred dollars, at least, depending on location. - Chris

I’m aware of USHIP and Craters & Freighters and their attendant costs — that’s why I’m looking for an alternative. Mike Sorter happened to be returning from the east coast to California with an empty van a few months ago and was able to pick up a Victor Schoolhouse that I had purchased in Nashville, Tennessee and bring it right to my door in Arizona. That’s more what I have in mind, if possible.
