Good point Steve. I said "Colonial", because in "His Masters' Gramophone", it says that the HMV under the trademark transfer had been in use in India for some years, but not in the UK till after WW2. Plus in Dave Coopers book, it is included in the tropical versions available in India. Maybe mine was exported to India, and the HMV letters were added there.
