Best of luck wit the restoration. I have a Canadian Berliner that some thought was a lost cause as well. They were mistaken.
Yes, Django - you should post your "before" and "after" pictures (or a ink to that old thread) to give the OP some encouragement! It was quite a transformation.

My Berliner, before and after can be seen in the Featured Phonograph section of the Archives. It was put into the Victor Talking Machine directory, #139.

Django:
your machine turned out fantastic. I think I remember seeing it in the before stage. I Am Dumb - I never thought to take pictures - I have replaced the rotten wood and matched it all together. The turntable turned out great all rust gone light antique nickel finish (not shiny) I don't want this to look like someones reproduction. Years ago (over 50) I picked up an Eldridge Johnson type M that had been laying on its side in a flooded basement, with both corner pillars rotted off. I was able to match the wood and turned the new pillars on my lathe. I also matched the finish of the undamaged sides so didn't have to refinish the whole machine. Great machine, and I have showed it many times on lectures. I hope the Berliner turns out as nice.
Thanks again for the support and encouragement.
