Yep, that's it. Just to the right of the endgate hinge, like on this one off the net.

Well if that doesn't beat all.

It's a ⅜" hole where the hole on my Fireside A is a quarter inch. This makes sense as the earlier cranes are smaller in diameter, but I wouldn't have thought they'd put a crane hole on the endgate--every Gem I've seen with the small crane is set up with the later style.

Looks like eventually I'm stuck adding a nice 8 panel on there, maybe a reproduction, who knows. Got to get it actually intact first. And I may have to check with the model railroad people about that, as model railroaders love to make parts in 3d and I guarantee you they could prototype a pulley when they're casually printing up 0-6-0's in their spare time.
