Here's a picture of the key. The key barrel's outer diameter is about 4mm. The inner diameter is about 3mm.

Great machine and wonderful time capsule! I wished my phonographs could also "tell" their story. A selling price of $55 is modest in comparison with today's military equipment.

Amazing that at least three members if this forum have the A&N in very good condition. I've been looking for one for years. Some have popped up, like the one recently on eBAY but I just did not have the $$$ to go after it.

Jerry, does yours have an Edisonic reproducer? Did you get it that way? That could mean someone used it well into the later 20s.

What are the dimensions of the oil can?

I wish I had known that! For a number of years I had one that was practically mint. It had everything. I sold it to the Edison National Historic Site.

The oil can is 2 inches wide at the base and 5 inches high. The spout screws off for storage and the can has a cork stopper, now rattling around inside the dry can!
