The case is definitely one of the roughest I've seen purporting to be an original colonial model. I wonder if behind the ugly brass plaque adornment you will find a redundant (worn over-sized) winding hole.

Its quite worn, but proportion, screw placement, patina all seem consistent to my eye. It would be sad, if there is a big hole under the plaque. I had the feeling the previous owner just had particularly bad taste and wanted to „hotrod“ the thing. We will see. How ever the case, i have no self control when it comes to buying teak models anyways.
