The only 8-series models I know of that were equipped with all metal horns were the 8-8 (School version), 8-9 (home version) and the 8-35.

That is correct Ortho. I mean there is a metal bracket to connects the horn to the tone arm area but thats all.

looks just like mine Sine, same finish :) i think they had mahogany and walnut, im not sure..
Now if i find a credneza i will be all set, these 2 models were always the ones i always wanted. The 8-12 you dont see to ofetn come up, but the Credneza you see all the time so it should be a easy thing to find :)

Thanks Spin for sharing a pic of yours, a very nice Machine they both are indeed ;)

STUFF AND NONSENSE!

The 8-12 horn has more wood than any other Orthophonic horn, save the all-wood folded horn used in
the late-production Granada and in the 4-7 machines.

The large, vertically bifurcated horn in the 8-12 is made ENTIRELY of wood, save for a small die-cast connector
which attatches the top of the horn to the motor board. I've repaired a number of these machines over the years, including the machine that Paul Edie used in his horn tests, and have about five salvaged 8-12 horns left after my late fire.
My bad! Sorry! Confusing it with my old 8-8.

According to LFTD, the 8-12 came *only* in walnut, as spin78's beautiful machine shows. I could kick myself now for passing on an one-owner 8-12 about four years ago; local fellow would have taken $75 for it. It had sound box problems, but I should have acquired it. If, if, if only....
