According to the Victor parts listing the lid support for the XXV schoolhouse is specific to that one model. There was only one type of lid support used over the life of the XXV models.
Note the position of the notch in the ratchet. The more common support will work but it will have to be manually hooked to the supporting pin rather than it naturally falling into place. I suppose you could reverse the ratchet to move the notch to the correct side if you have the means of re-riveting the joint but without first-hand experience I am reluctant to suggest it. It is probably best to use the common part as-is unless you can find the correct one.

Was this research into the Victor documents useful to anyone?
Perhaps I provided an answer you didn’t want to hear.

I definitely appreciate sharing your insight and knowledge here. While I don't have a Victor XXV (yet), simply knowing about these differences and commonalities is priceless. Thanks you very much!

Yes, I wasn't aware of the difference in the lid support for a XXV.
Thanks, Ken

Yes, Mark, very much so. I doubt that I will find a spare original Schoolhouse model, lid support so I plan to go with the more common one. But it is of course good to know. Thanks for posting that information.
