Before we all get too excited about this, it's worth considering a couple of issues, namely the price and the condition. I think it would remain unsold in the UK at that price as not many collectors have room for cabinet machines but in the States where there is little interest in HMV product compared to say Victor, Edison, Zonophone and even Columbia, it seems incredibly, optimisticly overpriced to me.
But of greater concern is the fact that the cabinet has been poorly refinished judging from the photos. That heavily pigmented cellulose lacquer finish is near impossible to replicate successfully. It looks to me as though someone has had a go repolishing the outside of the cabinet with shellac. It looks rough and doesn't appear to match the inside?
YMMV but it'd be an easy pass for me even though I'd like another 511 in great condition.
