I had extensive phone conversations with Joe Ginn in the late 00's and he wrote to me several times including one time sending me the manuscript draft copy of his Magnificent Music Machine, complete with his handwritten notes. He was always happy to chat at length about Expert to a fellow enthusiast. He never stopped working at his various projects it seems, including his model train he was working on back then.
I treasure those moments I was able to talk to him as he was such a warm and generous man and he seemed to revel in the enthusiasm I shared with him about the tweaks I'd made to soundboxes on my Senior and its performance in general. He remained astonished how some of us are keeping these magnificent machines singing just as they once did, all these years later.
RIP Joe
